Pitzhanger Manor was bought by the architect who designed the Bank of England, John Soane in the year 1800. The architect began a reconstruction project of the estate. In fact the entire manor was rebuilt with the exception of the south wing. The south wing of Pitzhanger Manor was designed by Soane’s first employer George Dance. John Soane didn't only rebuild the estate but the gardens as well.
